What is CrossFit?

Crossfit

Have yall heard of Crossfit?? What is CrossFit?

"CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program like no other. We row, we run, we do pushups, pull-ups, we weight-lift, we do gymnastics all in scalable ways for any age and any fitness level. This is all done in a supportive group environment where results are endless. If you want a fitness program that challenges you, gets you in the best shape of your life and doesn't take hours... CrossFit is for you."

There is a local gym nearby that offers crossfit and I'm going to sign up for it on Wednesday or Thursday. I'm a little nervous cause it's hard core training and I pretty much haven't been worked out that hard since my college basketball days many moons ago. I'm also a little nervous because the only time I can go for a workout is at 5:30am. I'm coaching basketball right now and I don't even get home till 6:30pm and the last session is at 5:15pm, so 5:30am it is (I'm NOT a morning person). But something has to give, I want to be in the best shape and Crossfit will get me there. I workout on my own but I never push myself, and lately I've been lazy and haven't really workout at all. So I'm going to tell myself no more excuses, its going to be hard but the way I'm going to get the results I want is ONLY by hard work in the gym. I'm going to blog every about my Crossfit experience every step of the way. Wish me luck!!!

Thanksgiving day

The hubby and I spent Thanksgiving day with my family in Corpus Christi. My sister came down from San Antonio and my cousin and her husband came down from Dallas. It was a wonderful day, pretty much I ate, watched football (the Dallas game sucked) and took naps. This year I was in charge of the sweets so this is what I baked!!
These are my ingredients for my pecan pie, I fogot to get the finished product but it came out delish!!

This is Paula Dean's Ooey Gooey Pumpkin butter cake and it is fabulous

And last but not least for the sweets I made snicker doodle and white chocolate cookies

I also made an appetizer my famous deviled eggs

This year Dustin helped with the cooking. He fried his very first turkey. I have never ever had fried turkey so I convinced him to fry one this year, and let me just say its the best turkey I have ever had. He marinated it and injected it with greatness the night before. From now on we are having fried turkey!! Here are some pics of Dustin cooking his first turkey and my dad helping.

That is 12 pounds of yumminess....

Here's a picture of Dustin and I before dinner and you don't want to see the after meal pic lol...

I had a wonderful day of being with family eating like it was my last supper and watching football even tho my teams lost...

The day after Thanksgiving I slept in and relaxed, (no black Friday for me) then finally got some Starbucks and headed to the mall once the crowd died. Stores still had really good sales.

I bought the hubby's Christmas present which he is going to absolutely love and the best thing he has no idea what it is...

I bought some Jessica Simpson boots (I've never bought any of her shoes cause the heels are way too high for my 6'2 ass but these are too cute and the heels not so high). I wore them last night with some leggings and they are very comfortable and hot.

I was in search of like a faux leather ( I'm too cheap to by a $500 for a real leather jacket) biker jacket. I finally found one at Macy's and it was only $39.99!! This is not the actual jacket but it looks similar to this jacket I couldn't find a pic of the actual jacket.

Shopping!!!!

I went shopping today, which I am so excited because I haven't been shopping for me in a long time. I'm not one of those black Friday people who gets up a 3 am and fights crowds ( and no offense to all who shop on black friday more power to you!!). Suprisingly enough some stores had great sales today. New York and Co. had EVERYTHING 50% off!!! Here are some things I picked up.....

Guess how much I payed for all these clothes???? The total cameout to $79.95, so I did lots of saving!!!

I then went to my other favorite store Express and I could have spend a fourtune in there but I just bought one item. A cute simple sweater called the london sweater, I tried it on its cute and comfy and can be warn with jeans or leggins.

Leggings!!!!

One thing I love about cooler weather is LEGGINGS!!! I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE leggings. I love everything about leggings, I love how they look on my 6'2 frame, I love how they feel. I love how comfy they are but yet fashionable. Right now since I'm in basketball season I haven't had time to shop so I've been looking online, and Victoria Secrets has some of the hottest leggings. I might have to splurge and get all my favorites, plus my birthday is coming up and I have to look fabulous since I'll be turning 32 :(

Here is what I want to order and not only the leggings but the outfits that complement them.

Arn't these outfits absolutely fabulous??!!

Obsession....

I have an obsession....

At the moment right now I'm obsessed with Starbucks. I've always been a fan but lately I want it everyday. I don't know if its the weather change, or because I've been really busy which has made me tired and I need a boost, but I've been craving it badly. Last night I didn't even want dinner, I wanted my venti skinny vanilla latte. So instead of eating a healthy dinner I went to Starbucks and had my lil piece of heaven. I have a basketball game today and before I go to the game I'm going to stop at Starbucks and pick up my drank lol....I even getting the hubby hooked, he doesn't like coffee but he found a drink that he can't get enough of, venti coco with salted caramel. Oh well that's my little spill for the day. I'm just glad they don't have a Starbucks in Rockport or else I'd be sneaking off from work to go feed my obsession....

Second baby shower in 2 weeks

Guess what I did this Sunday??? I was at a baby shower, this is my 2nd one in 2 weeks. It was for my friend and fellow coach Natalie, she's having a girl!!! We had the baby shower at my house which was pretty cool, I've never hosted a baby shower. I made this fabulous sherbert punch that everyone loved, and its so easy to make....

1 tub of sherbert (your fav flavor) I love Orange so that's what I used
ginger ale
sprite

put scoops of sherbert in a punch bowl and one part ginger ale to 2 parts sprite and you have a yumm-o punch

It was a coed shower (boys had to bring pampers to attend) so my hubby helped me with all the cooking and boy was it good. Thanks Babe!!! We made this delish steak cruton appetizer. Here's the recipe

baguette bread
steak (or you can use any kind of meat chicken even shrimp would be great)
mozzarella cheese
olive oil

I sliced the baguette into slices and drizzled it with olive oil and seasoned with Italian spices, and put in broil for less than 5 min and then flipped to other side to toast. Then topped each crouton with cheese and put it back to broil to melt cheese and topped each one with a slice of steak.

All in all everyone had a great time and Natalie got a lot of nice things for her new baby on the way Dani Brook.

Weekly Update

This past week was a hectic busy week. On Monday I was exhausted all day from the Halloween party on Sat (yes I know I'm getting old). I'm not used to staying up till 3 am and partying like a rock star. Monday after work and basketball practice (I'm a coach by the way) I came home watched a little TV and went to bed at 8:30, I'm so weak lol I didn't even workout which I felt so guilty by the way, cause I ate so bad on Sat. and Sun.

Tuesday I didn't get home till 11:30 at night from work. I'm the JV volleyball coach at Rockport-Fulton high school and our team made the playoffs!!! Our first playoff game was on Tuesday at 7:30 against Sweeny. We kicked butt!!! We beat Sweeny in 3 games. Congrats to the Lady Pirates!!!!!

Wednesday was Dustin's 29th birthday. I hope he enjoys the last of his 20's hehehe. Since we were both busy from work we both decided we would celebrate his birthday on Saturday. I did give him is 1st present which was John Grisham's The Confession.

On Thursday we had our second playoff game against Orange Grove. Since its also basketball season and I'm also a basketball coach I had practice with my team and then drove to West Oso (where the playoff game was at) for the game. I have to give props to Orange Grove they were pretty darn good, they even kicked our but the first game 12-25 (and if you know volleyball that's a butt kicking), but the Lady Pirates never gave up and ended up winning the match in 5 games!!! Our next playoff game is Tuesday in Victoria against Needville. Good Luck Lady Pirates!!!

On Friday the husband and I had a little date night and went to dinner at this Mexican restaurant called Pepitos. I should have had a salad but instead I indulged in the Mexican plate, which I ended up regretting later. I've been dieting with Isogenics and have been eating extra healthy so greasy Mexican food didn't sit well with my stomach.

Saturday was my friend Ashly's baby shower. The food was great there, they had a fruit and veggie platter and chicken salad sandwiches which are my favorite. Ashley made out like a bandit she was literally opening presents for like 2 hours. She's having a girl and got some of the cutest things. Here is a pic of me, Ashley, and Jessica....

Ashley is about 8 months preggos and has only gained 20 pounds, she looks great! I hope when I'm preggos I look as good as she does.

Later that night my hubby and I met my mom dad and aunt and uncle at Water Street restaurant for Dustin's birthday dinner. This time I was good and ordered soup and salad......but it didn't help that I ate a slice of DQ's ice cream birthday cake. It was totally worth it, soooo yummy!

Sunday we slept in!! Since I ate like it was my last supper all weekend I decided I need to do some serious working out. I picked out an aerobic dvd from my Firm library of dvds, and I picked this one out

I don't know if you can see the cover but this dvd is suppose to burn 500 calories in 1 hour. And let me just say I have never done this particular video. Lets just say I got about 30 minutes into to video and had to quit. I'm so out of shape its just sad. I couldn't even finish an aerobic video.....I'm going to kick up my workouts this week and go balls to the wall lol!!!!!

We also went shopping today, I bought the hubby some new clothes cause he's lost weight too and his old clothes don't fit him anymore, and this is also part of Dustin's birthday present. Here is a pic of the hubby and his new clothes looking all GQ

Well that was an update of this past week I was such a busy bee and there is no slowing down this coming up week. Stay tuned for next weeks updates!!!
